• Location data: If you choose to share your location (via your browser or by entering your postal code), we store your approximate latitude, longitude, and/or postal code to personalize planting dates for your area.
• Preferences: Your theme preference (light or dark mode) and any plants you save to your favourites.
• Purchase information: If you buy seeds through our shop, we collect your name, shipping address, billing address, and payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we never store your full credit card number.
• Communications: If you contact us, we keep a record of the correspondence.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs.
• Cookies: We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and functional cookies to remember your preferences. See "Cookies" below for details.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and personalize our services: Your location data lets us calculate frost dates and show you when to plant. Your account data lets you track progress, save favourites, and access your settings.
• Process orders: If you purchase seeds, we use your information to fulfill and ship your order.
• Communicate with you: Order confirmations, account-related emails, and — only with your consent — occasional newsletters about growing tips and new features.
• Improve our platform: We analyze usage patterns in aggregate to make the site better. We do not sell your personal information.
• Protect against fraud: We may use your information to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions or unauthorized access.

Third-Party Services

We share your information only with services that help us operate the platform:

• Supabase: Hosts our database and handles authentication. Your account data and profile are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• Google OAuth: If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email with us. We do not receive your Google password. Google's own privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
• Stripe: Processes payments for the Seed Shop. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment information.
• Vercel: Hosts our website. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request data).
• Google Analytics: We may use analytics services to understand how visitors use our site. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies: Required to keep you logged in and for the site to function. You cannot opt out of these.
